My top 5 lovers in martial art movies. For this Valentine’s day why don’t take a look at my favorite scenes in martial art movies about lover’s couples? I promise, they will be full of action even celebrating love!
A Valentine’s fight
Saint Valentine’s Day is approaching and this year after long time I will be alone so… I decided to celebrate it with you guys! Martial art movies are full of love histories, but I have gone beyond and I looked for actually fighting scenes that could really show this strong bond. So let’s start with my top 5 lovers in martial.
5) Jackie Chan and his date experiences
Jackie Chan is known for his capability of mixing humor with action scenes, and of course during his unbelievable film career, some scenes involved love affairs. Here one example of his misfortune in love’s term, of course with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao around…
4) The never end fight of ninjas
Continuing to talk about bad luck, Scott Adkins really had hard times in the Ninja saga. The couples was continuously attacked by the Temple Industries organization, and without spoilers the second chapter of the series does not start well…
3) The love square
One of the most intricated love story that you can find in a martial art cinematography production is of course in a series, and fans of Cobra Kai knows of course what I am talking about. Samantha started to date Miguel, but then comes Robby in the dojo, so Tory kissed Miguel and… well here’s the result:
2) Romeo must die
The second place goes to one of my favorite movies of all time, it is called Romeo must die, starring Jet Li and the missing singer Aaliyah. I have a soft spot in my heart for this movie, which to me is in absolute a love story. Fun fact, the protagonists never kiss each other:
1) Wuxia poetry
I want to honor the wuxia genre that has tons of love stories to offer, picking one of the last that I have seen, the falling love’s dance between Fala Chen and Tony Leung, respectively Ying Li and Xu Wenwu, Shang Chi’s parents. Hard to tell if they are fighting or dancing together.
That was my top 5 lovers in martial art movies. Do you have more scenes to share?
To all the lovebirds around there: don’t be afraid to celebrate and express love, in the end is the only thing that matters. And for those who think to be alone, I tell you guys you don’t!
