The Live action factory of Netflix

The Live action factory of Netflix. Never as before, the streaming service giant is focusing on the production of live action series based on animated series.

A mission

Since the dawn of Netflix as streaming service, the effort to adapt animated series, especially anime, into movies was remarkable. Unfortunately, the firsts production were not good enough to be taken seriously as worthy material to increase the popularity of the anime, indeed movies like Bleach or Death Note, globally acclaimed as manga masterpieces, were strongly unappreciated by nearly everyone in their Netflix live action adaptation.

Pushing, with time and effort Netflix was capable to deliver some very good anime adaption, especially adopting the transposition as series and not as movies, like Alice in Borderland and Kakegurui. In the very last years however, Netflix is really investing on this adaptation, taking as subject the world greatest anime, with a good results. From the martial art point of view, the most interesting Netflix series for now are:

One Piece

The effort of all the cast is evident in this anime adaptation, every character is played with heart and some shots are identical to the original, fights included. A star among the crew that shines a little more from the martial art point of view is Mackenyu, son of the legendary Sonny Chiba and starring as Roronoa Zoro. The ability with the sword of Mackenyu were already known from Rurouni Kenshin: The Final, so it is really a show seeing him with three swords!

Yu yu Hakusho

An unexpected and pleasant surprise not only for the fight scenes, but also for the fact to have at least a transposition of this beautiful anime of the 90’s. All the cast members are again committed to their respective role, Takumi Kitamura as the protagonist Yusuke Urameshi is really taking the street fighting anime style to the next level.
