RE:ANIME

If you lost faith in humanity after saw Death Notes and Bleach on Netflix, or if you locked your doors during the first screening of Dragonball Evolution and Ghost in the Shell. You are in the right place. The equipe of RE:ANIME is going to change your mind about the anime live action movies.

Born with a mission: to wash away the frustration of the anime misrepresentation that the big cinematic companies generate. The RE:ANIME Company produced and fronted by Nik Shaw really puts all the effort in reply meticulously the most memorable fight scenes of our beloved anime.

The result is impressive! I personally confronted in real time the original anime fight scenes with the ones shot by RE:ANIME. The actors do not replicate only all the moves of the fights, but they really play the character in-depth. In addition to the talented performance of the stuntmen, the attention of the costumes and the special effects make these videos more than simply fan tributes… They are without a doubt short films.

So let’s see some of the most appreciated short movies of RE:ANIME:

Naruto

There cannot be anime project without getting inspired by big names, in this case I am talking about Naruto. The world famous ninja of the anime with his jutsu create a show full of fights, so the crew of RE:ANIME has plenty of material. The choice was pretty original: Kakashi vs Obito of the anime series Naruto Shippuden. In the role of Kakashi, one of the most talented ninja of Konohagakure, Chris Pang. Already seen in many action movies and in Crounching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, to the side of the master Donnie Yen. Playing Obito, the formidable Canadian actor and wushu athlete Osric Chau. The choreographer of the scene is Yoshi Sudarso, who will be one of the protagonist of the next videos.

Assassination Classroom

My favorite RE:ANIME’s fight scene (maybe because I am huge fan of the anime) is the knife combat between Nagisa and Karma of the anime Assassination Classroom. The duel is one of the key moment of the whole story, because the confrontation will decides if kill or save Korosensei. Nagisa is played by Jackie Tran, a pretty unknown but very experienced martial artist. The actor is named Jackie in honor of the our brightest star Jackie Chan. Trained in wushu and kick boxing, he is one of the promising stuntmen of the new century. The role of Karma instead is played by Brandon Soo Hoo, another talented and skilled martial artist, already seen in G. I. Joe Rise of the Cobra, impersonating the young Storm Shadow! The taekwondo athlete is pretty known in the cinema industry, so enjoy the battle:

Avatar: The Last Airbender

The fan of Avatar the Last Airbender please switch the ventilator on, because this fight scene is going to burn your screens. With this video, I think that RE:ANIME reach a really high level of their product, capable safely to be shown on the big screen. The clash this time is between Zuko and Azula of the famous American cartoon Avatar the Last Airbender. Performing the Prince Zuko and his incredibly power of Firebender is Yoshi Sudarso, former stuntman of many blockbuster and Power Ranger suit-actor. As the lethal Princess Azula Firebender prodigy, Nikki SooHoo, famous actress of Los Angeles (California). Yasmin Kassim instead will playing in the role of the young and smart Waterbender Katara. The wushu stunt choreographer of the scene is Mark Poletti, have a look:

In summary, we saw that high level representations of anime character are possible, thanks to projects as RE:ANIME that demonstrates the skills of many good actors. Finally, we can enjoy the anime transposition with no worries. Hoping to see them soon in a full-length film, let’s support them!
