Baki is returning with a new exciting season TODAY in Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament! The World Strongest Boy will continue to fight his opponents in The Centennial Tournament in order to challenge his father once again.
For me it is a pleasure to write about one of the anime that better deserves to be thorough in a martial art context. And in fact, Baki The Grappler is one of my favorite anime, so I think I will write more about it in the near future.
Baki The Grappler
Who discovered Baki thanks to Netflix must know that there was already a Baki’s series in 2001! Baki the Grappler was the very first anime adaptation of the Keisuke Itagaki’s manga. In this series a thirteen years old Baki is training to become the world strongest grappler and defeat his father (Yujiro Hanma, responsible of the death of his beloved mother). During his training, Baki will meet a lot of strong fighters that will change his personality from street brawler to a respectful martial artist.
Grappler Baki: Maximum Tournament
The second anime adaptation of the manga was covering the Maximum Tournament Saga of the manga series Grappler Baki. Grappler Baki: Maximum Torunament is a continuation of the first anime adaptation. The martial art tournament will attract Baki’s old skilled friends and new powerful fighters, all with the aim to win the Champion Belt. Baki manages to win the tournament and beat one of his tougher opponents, his half-brother Jack.
Baki
Netflix transposition of Baki takes place after the Maximum Tournament’s end. The new chapter focus on the Most Evil Death Row Convicts Saga, in which five dangerous criminals around the world are coming to Tokyo, in order to seek defeat in their life and challenge the Champion of the Maximum Tournament. Baki’s old friends do not want to step aside, so: Doppo Orochi, Goki Shibukawa, Kaoru Hanayama and Kaioh Retsu join the great battle. The rules are set as follow: everyone can track down their opponent from the opposite team in every daily life situation. After a series of brutal high-casualty assault, Baki’s team manages to survive.
Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament
In this new chapter of Baki, we will see our protagonist taking part in The Centennial Tournament: a martial art tournament that is organized every hundred years in China. Only the strongest fighters in the world are invited to the Great Raitai Tournament, and Baki with his father are both competing, so let’s turn on Netflix!
