Sound like b martial art movies. Here are some of the latest martial art movies that are not reaching the excellence but still they deserve at least to be mentioned.
There was a time where all the martial art movies could be labeled as b movies, sometimes because of their poorly commercial motion picture or just because of their independent production. It took ages and over the top personalities to the martial art movie genre to be acknowledged as a legitimate movie genre. I think that the time as come to start talking about b martial art movies and here are the latest valuable productions that I found:
Kung fu Games
Starring the Karateka Caitlin Dechelle and the British martial artist Mark Strange, this original movie tell the story of a bunch of notorious fighters who are trapped in a deadly kill-or-be-killed martial art movie. The tributes of the masterpieces of the genre are many: from Bruce Lee’s Game of Death until Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon‘s bamboo forest, I even saw a reference to hammer girl of the Raid 2 or maybe it was my imagination…
The Last Kumite
This movie tribute is a funny reinterpretation of Jean Claude Van Damme’s Bloodsport in a lot of ways. The cast is skilled and some guest star like Cynthia Rothrock and David Yeung (son of Bolo Yeung) are a valid featuring.
Lady Scorpions
This martial art movie has the credit to team up two former martial artist women who are making and made history like Caitlin Dechelle and our majesty Cynthia Rothrock. The two martial art masters will fight against a crime syndicate in order to save their family.
