Another Halloween has come and which better occasion to remember the scariest horror icons of the bloodiest fighting game ever, Mortal Kombat. Here my nominees:
Freddy
It was the 2011 and Mortal Kombat was rebooting its universe with a new timeline. The darker tone of the game was oriented to a mature audience could not help but invite the Dream Demon himself, Freddy Krueger. The protagonist of A Nightmare on Elm Street was the nightmare of a lot Mortal Kombat players at that time and one of the best dlc ever of the fighting game.
Jason
Naming Freddy, it is impossible to not mention his long-standing enemy, Jason Voorhees. After the success of the dlc pack of the previous title, Mortal Kombat X celebrates Friday the 13th with his slasher celebrity in a frightening dlc.
Leatherface
Mortal Kombat X took a liking to it, adding another horror icon to its roster, the antagonist of the Texas Chainsaw massacre, Leatherface. The fatalities were reaching another level of violence with this chainsaw killer. Here we have the massacre:
Alien vs Predator
Mortal Kombat’s crew granted horror fans wishes announcing on Mortal Kombat X the science fiction action horror characters par excellence, Alien and Predator. These two icons established MK dlc as a true standalone experience of the game.
Spawn
Mortal Kombat 11 was able to bring to its roster a hell of a character, Albert Francis “AI” Simmons, better known as Spawn. The comic book anti-heroic superhero is a masterpiece of destruction and death in maybe the best MK dlc ever made.
