The replicas were built with actual magazines, record albums, television and commercial of the 1980s, while the main cast spent a year of training to prepare the fight scenes.

Raymond Lam is the star of the movie, in the role of Chan Lo-kwan, a refugee who settled in the walled city but became entangled in the chaos within and faced the imminent demolition of the Triade’s ruled city. Louis Koo is Cyclone, a martial art master, protector of the residents of Kowloon Walled City, together with his loyal outlaw companion Shin (Terrance Lau), Twelfth Master (Tony Wu) and AV (German Cheung).
The martial art stars instead are taking the role of crime lords: Sammo Hung as Mr. Big and Philip Ng as King.
