The end of a story
Kengan Ashura has something special, maybe because of Ohma’s story narration and friendship with Yamashita, or due to the attention of the fights, telling and animating true martial art techniques in this clash of titans is an art per se. I think however, that the true strength of Kengan Ashura anime comes from the capability to humanize these incredible fighters, showing their efforts and sacrifice. So, we are not simply watching a martial art tournament, but a true confrontation of the human willingness.
Right to the finals
We left off last time at the beginning of the quarterfinals, with Ohma Tokita ready to fight the Brazilian jujitsu prodigy Cosmo Imai. Each of the thirteen matches left deserve to be watched, obviously I will introduce you to the most important ones: the two semifinals and the grand final.
Ohma vs Wakatsuki
Ohma manage to overcome each of his past opponent improving his Niko style reaching the semifinal against The Wild Tiger, Takeshi Wakatsuki. The karateka uses his abnormal striking power and in addition also grappling moves, but Ohma willingness to fight allows him to uses his Niko style beyond his capabilities.
Kanoh vs Kuroki
The second semifinal involves Kanoh Agito, the Fifth Fang of Metsudo vs the Devil Lance Kuroki Gensai, in an epic fight between modernity vs tradition.
The final
The final match is really the ultimate confrontation between two unbelievable martial artists which styles seems to have common roots.
The proclamation of the Ashura in this epic finale is now a reality. The end is really touching, even though who has red the manga knows that another big tournament is just about to start.
