Right to the beginning with The Acolyte. The new Star Wars series set before the Skywalker prequel trilogy, it tells about the origin of the Syths and unveil old mysteries. Attention, spoilers ahead!
A VERY long time ago
The Acolyte is the last effort of the Star Wars series universe, set before Episode I, the facts told in this new series are the first ever, in terms of the saga timeline. If the premise is not enough to intrigue you to watch the series, well, I can assure you that the plot is not the only reason to follow the eight episodes of The Acolyte, because, despite that, the fights are awesome.
The first Siths
Sith lords were always fascinating and mysterious, after all the dark side was created through the emotions… In my opinion the series shows this aspect of the force in a very practical way, presenting the reason why Jedi could fall into the shadows and become terribly lethal. The fights of The Acolyte are brutal and beautiful at the same time, presenting a new Sith “The Stranger” as a terrifying opponent for the skilled Jedi of the temple. Also known as Qimir, this Sith holds a single red-bladed lightsaber, which could be split in two separated lightsabers (shoto and standard), forming the equivalent of the samurai daisho.
A never ending duel
As mentioned, the fights are really brutal and only the performance of Lee Jung-jae, in the role of the Jedi Master Sol, can literally stand up against the ability of Manny Jacinto (Qimir). Though, truth to be bold, seeing Carrie-Anne Moss as a Jedi master was a pleasant surprise and the fights of protagonist Amandla Stenberg were worthy of the best action scenes of the entire saga. Last but not least, Dafnee Keen as Jecki Lon was really something else!
