Could a man kill a god? So it seems, at least in Record of Ragnarok, the anime transposition of the manga with the same name, arrived on Netflix with a second season!
A tournament to save humankind
The manga written by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and illustrated by Ajichika tells about a tournament to save humanity between gods from various mythologies and historical figures. If the manga was a success, useless to say how much the anime transposition is liked, from the design until the representation of the characters, Record of Ragnarok is very discussed.
From a fighting point of view, Record of Ragnarok is very original, giving both historical figures and the various gods a unique fighting style enhancing their skills up to unreachable levels. The fights are so intense that after the first two matches people just don’t care about the result, just want to see what they are up to!
Here my favorite three fights of the two seasons launched until now, can’t wait to share my top 5 once the anime is concluded…
Hercules vs Jack the Ripper
This unbelievable fight is full of twists, starting from the battleground, a faithful representation of 1880s London, where Jack the Ripper committed his crimes. The brave and correct Hercules in order to fill the gap between his power and the rival’s abilities granted to choose the battleground, in the end not a smart idea.
Shiva vs Raiden
When one of the principal deities of Hinduism and the best rikishi of all time decide to compete one another, the fight become unbelievable gory. Both the god and the historical figure spare no effort and provide to the audience a true fighting show.
Zeus vs Adam
Could be easily addressed as the fight of the millennium, on one hand we have the god of gods in person Zeus, on the other hand the first of the men, created in the image and likeness of the Creator, Adam. The clash is out of this world, impossible to describe, just watch…
Could a man kill a god? The destiny of the humanity is in the hands of our champions and we are only half way. What is your favorite clash so far? What god or champion would you like to see in the next season?
