May Visions be with you. Celebrating the Star Wars day with the most beautiful tributes around the planet, the second season of Visions is out now!
There is no try
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… there was an animated anthology series called Visions, produced by Lucasfilm and consisting of nine anime short films. The Japanese animation studios involved in these beautiful tributes were: Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I. G and Science Saru.
The first season of Visions was the most shining star of the franchise in years, finding finally a common ground between all the Star Wars fanbase. Also from a martial artist point of view some of the short movies are very interesting, I personally pick up three of them in order to show you the high level of these lightsaber combat:
The Duel
The impact of the first episode, called “The Duel”, was something completely new to the Star Wars Universe. The Japanese studio Kamikaze Douga manage to mix the art of the samurai with lightsabers, in a 13 minutes episode that is a masterpiece from many point of views:
The Twins
Another astonishing short movies that in many cases condense the Star Wars universe in just 18 minutes is the episode called “The Twins”. The power of two siblings is released in a majestic animation:
The Elder
The episode “The Elder” is again a beautiful fusion of the Japanese fencing and the lightsaber art, that find a unique expression in this incredible duel:
Visions… Around the world
If we learned something from the first season is that the galaxy is huge and there is plenty of room to experiment, these tributes perfectly fit and give new life to the franchise. So, I can’t wait to see what the animation Studio, around the globe this time, have to offer! Before the trailer of the second season, here the list of the animation studios involved for Visions 2: El Guiri, Cartoon Saloon, Punkrobot, Aardman, Studio Mir, Studio La Cachette, 88 Pictures, D’art Shtajio, Triggerfish and of course Lucasfilm.
