The fanservice of the Three Kingdoms
Ikki Tousen is a manga of the 2000 became internationally famous thanks to its anime transposition three years after, in 2003. Also known in North America as Battle Vixens, the series tells the story of seven high schools, who fighting each other in order to gain territorial supremacy. All the fighters “Toshi” are a sort of reincarnation of one of the legendary characters of the classic 14th century Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The plot follows Hakufu Sonsaku, a girl with a great inner power, who fights to change her fate. The anime is divided in five seasons and three original video animations:
Ikki Tousen
The first season introduce the audience to the Ikki Tousen war and follows the exploit of Hakufu Sonsaku, the beautiful and strong protagonist of the series, who moved to the Namyo Academy, where she will meet good friends and powerful challengers. From the first episode there are already high erotic scenes and violent fights, typical of the entire series.
Dragon Destiny
The second season follows the events of the previous one, but focus more on the Seito Academy, in which Unchou Kan-u, a skilled warrior fighting with a Naginata, follow her mission to protect Gentoku, another girl who has a dragon hidden power inside her, just like Hakufu.
Great Guardians
In the third season the two protagonist Academies join forces in order to defeat a new dangerous Toshi, introducing new characters like the little sister of Hakufu, Chuubou Sonken, and old ones like Housen Ryofu, believed dead in the first season ending.
Xtreme Xecutor
The fourth season called Xtreme Xecutor is the final arc of the series, introducing Hakufu’s pupil Bachou Mouki, a Toshi coming from the Seito Academy very similar to the protagonist. The last tournament between the schools will bring the Dragon Girls in another clash of clan.
Shin Ikkitousen
Shin Ikkitousen is the unexpected sequel of Xtreme Xecutor, in fact after the fourth season of Ikki Tousen, the series launched three OVAs during the years: Shugaku Toshi Keppu-roku, Extravaganza Epoch and Western Wolves. Finally the main arc will have a sequel, and three episodes are already available, seeing Hakufu and friends in another war between schools.
